This CD with works by the great Dutch composer Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck (1562-1621), masterfully performed on organ, harpsichord, and virginal by Günther Fetz, offers an exciting and interesting listening experience. The sounds of the beautiful instruments are impressively captured by the recording. Günther Fetz’ concluding free improvisation on a theme by Sweelinck lends this CD a special and unique touch: a meditative as well as gripping and stirring creation that spans the centuries from the early Baroque to our times.
